It’s nearly impossible to name a favorite country, but I will say Vietnam holds the place of one the coolest activities we’ve done to date. At the time, there wasn’t all that much of information on the internet about the Ha Giang Loop, a multi-day motorbike tour through some of the most dangerous but beautiful roads in Northern Vietnam. After watching a few YouTube vlogs, we just went for it with no expectations. We’ve never driven motorbikes before so we opted for the EZ-rider option where you sit on the back of one. The company Ha Giang Amazing Tours set up pretty much everything for us from airport pick up, overnight bus to Ha Giang, hostel stay before and after the tour, and the best. tour. guides. ever. If you book with them, ask for Ly!
We absolutely loved Ha Long Bay! We opted for the 2-night with Indochina Junk on their smallest wooden boat that was running that the time. There are shorter (and longer of course) Ha Long Bay cruises however, I’d recommend at least 2 nights if you want to get deeper into the bay where there are fewer boats. Also, we loved the intimate small boat feel. There were only 12 of us on board, and we still keep in touch with many of them!
Another highlight was getting clothes custom made in Hoi Ai. We were in no position to add a ton of new things to our carry-on suitcases, so we got 1 piece each. You can however get anything from dresses, pants, suits, and wedding gowns made in Hoi An. We went to Sewing Bee, she is the best!
