My Thoughts on The World of Hyatt Credit Card

The World of Hyatt Credit Card has been an all around great card to have in our wallet. Hyatt has a global footprint, giving us a lot of opportunities to redeem nights on our travels. Like the other two annual fee hotel credit cards we have (IHG One Rewards Credit Card and Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card) I like having a hotel credit card where you can earn a free night on your account anniversary. With our current travels, it allows us to stay somewhere nicer than we usually stay for a night or two, or more importantly, helps us redeem nights in cities where it isn’t easy to find cheap accommodation. With the free night, we are essentially paying $95 (aka the annual fee) instead of the cash price for that room.

Both the free night you earn from spending the $15,000 in a calendar year as well as the cardmember anniversary are redeemable at category 1-4 hotels. So far using this card, we have found ourselves trying to find category 1 hotels at standard pricing where you can redeem points for just 5,000 points per night to maximize free nights from our points we’ve earned. Here is a chart from Hyatt which shows the different redemption values for using their points when booking.
