The IHG One Rewards Premier card has been a staple in our wallet since we began traveling. During our first year of travel we were able to save on multiple weeks worth of nights utilizing the points from both our welcome offers for this card. Within the IHG portfolio of hotels, we typically redeem nights at Holiday Inn Expresses, followed by Holiday Inns, and the occasional Crowne Plaza. The free breakfast, when available, is such a game changer. IHG has over 19 hotel brands and over 6,000 properties worldwide to stay at, so there are plenty of different hotels across the world where you can utilize your points as well as status from having this card.
 
Benefits of the Card We Use the Most
–       4th night free when you redeem points for a consecutive four-night IHG hotel stay.
o   When we are redeeming points for a stay, we almost always try to book in 4 night increments. It allows us to earn the most value from our points.
–       Anniversary Free Night valued at 40,000 points
o   Another thing with this card is that it does have an annual fee of $99. However, you earn an anniversary free night valued up to 40,000 points. So to make sure we are earning the most from this card, we try and use our free night where the room is well over $99. By utilizing the free night, you are essentially locking in whatever room you redeem it for $99.
–       Automatic Platinum Elite Status
o One of my favorite benefits is the early and late check-in (subject to availability). It is nice when it works out and we don’t have to wait till the middle of the afternoon to check in, especially on travel days where we arrive at our destination in the morning. We have also occasionally been given a complimentary upgrade (also subject to availability). The other benefit that is always nice when checking in is the welcome amenity.
