When I say Norway has been at the very top of Peter’s bucket list for years, I mean it. After all, we jetted here all the way from Indonesia to catch the very end of shoulder season before the busy season. We also decided we wanted to spend an entire month here (RIP in peace to the budget). 

We had an entire Norway trip planned and booked for 2020, which we unfortunately had to cancel, but the good news is instead of packing in 3 major hikes in 5 days like we were planning on doing (we were working with very limited PTO at the time), we could now take our sweet time and pick and choose the best weather days to hike.

Our Norway adventure started in southern Norway and hiked Preikestolen, Kjerabolten, and Trolltunga. Then we flew to the Lofoten islands for the midnight sun, which is one of the coolest experiences we’ve had to date. Imagine the sun is up all hours of the night, and you’re seeing the most stunning skies you’ve ever seen between the hours of 12-2AM (this is when the sun would drop a little bit below the mountains before rising again). You could literally go on a hike at 3AM. Safe to say our sleep schedule was non-existent.

This is the country where we really whipped out those credit card points in order to prevent going way WAY over budget (we still did but it could’ve been worse). We rented cars both in southern Norway as well as in the Lofoten Islands, which we all know by now, is NOT cheap.
