We made it to Bali! After years of seeing this place online we finally got to check it out for ourselves. We had been desperately behind on sleep and planning so Bali was the perfect place to slow down for a bit. Our first stop was in Canggu, where we rented a room in a villa with a pool and spent the week hanging out, eating realgood (and for cheap), and the evenings watching the sunset at the beach.
We hit up Ubud next and fell in love with Jiwa’s place, our villa where they served the most delicious banana pancakes every morning. We loved it so much we extended our stay at the villa twice. While staying in Ubud, we hiked Mt. Batur, and did an overnight trip to Mt. Ijen. Mt. Ijen is a nighttime hike (I think we started hiking at 2am) down into an active volcano and sulfur mine. If the weather conditions are right, you’ll see blue fire! Seeing the miners was one of the most eye-opening experiences we’ve encountered to date.
We finished our Bali tour with a few days by the beach in Seminyak.
