We’re on our own once again in Germany! Having sped through the last few countries, the exhaustion hit pretty dang hard, so we whipped out some IHG points to redeem 9 nights at a Holiday Inn Express in Frankfurt where we were able to relax and do some planning. It was at this moment of our travel journey when we realized it’s the small things that count…and free hotel breakfast was one of them. Sounds silly, I know, but when you’re on a 365-day trip and have to decide when/where/how to get breakfast in a foreign country every single morning (in addition to the million other decisions that same day), eating the same breakfast for 9 days in a row was really, really nice.
We hit up some of the major German cities as well as rented a car and drove a portion of the Romantic Road. Last but certinaly not least, we traveled a full day to the town of Ovendorf, Peter’s last name. The town had a total of 2 streets…we walked around and then went home.
